Positively Positive Review – Human Target: Sanctuary

Okay so after seeing three episodes of this show, I finally came to a decision about it last week.
I love it.
In some ways, I’m surprised by that. This show is kinda corny in some parts, overly dramatic in others and likes to put in a lot of one-liners. All of which should have put me off and truth be told, in the beginning, it kinda did.
When I first heard about Human Target, I had no idea it was based on a comic book. From the ads I saw it looked like it would be full of action and maybe some drama. So the overly dramatic music, one-liners and general corny-ness put me off. But the more I watched it, the more I liked it and once I found out it was based on a comic, it all made a lot more sense.
Also when I watch it, for some strange reason, I can’t help but to be reminded of that great 80’s ball of cheese that I adored – MacGyver. It’s got the handsome hero always trying to save the damsel (or dude) in distress. It’s got the older, crankier sidekick guy who works mostly in the background and handles all the mundane stuff. It’s got a wacky sidekick who’s full of mystery. Plus it’s got the music. Like I said, at first I didn’t like it, but now the music has totally grown on me and become one of my favorite parts of the show.
Plus, last night’s episode featured a fight in a gondola and featured one of the best Wilhelm Scream’s I’ve ever heard – what’s not to like?
Overall a fun tv show full of action, some comedy, damsels and dames in distress, a handsome hero and of course that really, really dramatic music.

LOL – I heard that scream last night and I knew I’d heard it somewhere before! :O) Wilhelm Scream. I had no idea there was actually a name for that sound effect!

Why does it not surprise me that you’re watching this show too? LOL.
So happy I could help w/that useless, yet interesting, bit of trivia. ;o)
BTW, I have started watching White Collar and I love it! I just need to find the time to start reviewing it. So hard since it’s on the same night as NCIS and NCIS LA.

OMG Drugged!Neal was so hilarious, I just about died. He’s got a very nice singing voice though. LOL.
Now I can’t remember…what did Neal say to Peter?
I just love the relationship between those two. It’s not surprising considering how much I love Tony & Gibbs father/son and Tony & McGee brotherly stuff so much. LOL.

I’m with you – I love love love this show! I’m so excited for Wed nights although I DVR it and wait to watch it on Fridays with my son – he loves it for different reasons than me – me, I’m all about the eye candy and the whump
He loves the fighting and the guns

LOL! Yes, it is ALL about the eye candy and the whump isn’t it?
Oh and yes I LOVE Burn Notice. I’ve done one review on it since it came back from hiatus. More will come, I promise. It’s just hard because there are so many shows I love on the same night – Burn Notice, Bones, Supernatural, Greys Anatomy and now I’m getting into The Deep End. It’s crazy.
Hmm….a Human Target fic? Well, that’s a definite possiblity. It’s already got the whump. LOL. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens after I finish my current NCIS fic.
